MEET OUR DOCTORS
Dr. Nina Stewart
Dr. Stewart is one of our our primary emergency veterinarians. She is a native of Indiana. She graduated from Purdue University before going on to graduate from Michigan State University Veterinary School. She has worked in two of the most advanced equine hospitals in the world, in both Ocala, Florida and Lexington, Kentucky. She has also done humanitarian veterinary work internationally. Dr. Stewart is now excited to bring her years of experience to help the people and horses served by Bluegrass Equine Emergency Services in their emergency situations.

Dr. Makenzie Townsend
Dr. Townsend is a 2022 Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine graduate. She has spent years as a western performance horse exibitor. She currently has a a focus on reproduction and emergency medicine. She joined Bluegrass Equine Emergency Service as an associate veterinarian in the summer of 2022. She and her husband have a beautiful baby girl that keeps them both on their toes every day. Dr. Townsend is excited to be in Kentucky and looks forward to helping people and their horses with their equine emergencies. In her free time, you will find her at her farm with her horse, her dog, and the other menagerie of animals, or possibly at a local rodeo.
